Axelle and Yacine

Yacine and Axelle live and love unapologetically. A queer mixed-race couple, Yacine from the Maghreb and Axelle from sub-Saharan Africa, their relationship exists at the intersection of many worlds. Worlds that do not always know how to make space for them.

“It’s like we’re too much for everyone,” Axelle says. “Too Black. Too queer. Too different.”

Their love is often misunderstood, sometimes rejected, especially within spaces that were once meant to feel like home. Yet together, they continue to build something softer. Something freer.

To them, love is not performance. It is refuge. A space where they exist fully, without apology.
